The Heathcote School Closure
It was with great sadness we received the news in October 2006 that the Local Authority had decided to close Heathcote School. The decision was based on demographics and on the reorganisation of education provision under the Building Schools for the Future programme. It was disappointing for the whole community but morale remains high and we will continue to provide a good education for our students up to the point of closure in July 2012.
We are celebrating the success of Heathcote School over the years by holding a series of reunion events in the summer term of 2012 to enable former staff and students to meet at school for the last time. These events are publicised on Facebook and Friends Reunited and more details will be given out during the course of the year on the school website and in the local press.
